Super Saturday Concludes: Listen to the Official Entries of Iceland, Moldova, Croatia & Estonia + Round-Up of all 7 Selections

Four national selections took place tonight from four different European countries who all selected their song for the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest.

Iceland, Moldova, Croatia and Estonia hosted their selections to select their song whilst Sweden, Serbia and Portugal continued their search. Find out everything you need to know about the four new artists and songs plus an overview of each selection’s results and songs.


Iceland: Söngvakeppnin 2020 Final

Live via national broadcaster RÚV, Iceland selected their song and artist for Rotterdam this may. Daði & Gagnamagnið will represent the nation with “Think About Things”. Watch their live performance below.

The final of Söngvakeppnin featured five total artists, after two previous semi-finals and auditions. The running order for tonight’s show was:

  • Ísold & Helga – “Meet Me Halfway”
  • Daði & Gagnamagnið – “Think About Things”
  • Nína Dagbjört – “Echo”
  • Iva – “Oculis videre”
  • DIMMA – “Almyrkvi”

Croatia: Dora 2020 Final

Travelling over to Croatia, HRT hosted annual selection Dora, with sixteen acts competing. The final result was determined by a 50/50 split of televote and jury vote. Damir Kedžo eventually won the show with “Divlji Vjetre”. Watch the performance below.

Estonia: Eesti Laul 2020 Final

Over in Estonia, ERR hosted the grand final of Eesti Laul. Uku Suviste will represent Estonia in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with “What Love Is”. He competed in the so-called ‘Super Round’ against Arnett & Fredi and Jaagup Tuisk. Watch his live performance below.

Twelve total acts battled it out for the golden ticket to The Netherlands this may. The participating acts were:

Moldova: Moldova Decides 2020 Final

TRM presented the final of Moldova Decides live, with 20 acts participating. Fan favourite Natalia Gordienko won the event with her song “Prison”. You can watch her performance below.

Three Countries Continue Their Search

Meanwhile, three other countries held another round of their selections, making a total of seven national finals being held this Saturday.


Sweden: Melodifestivalen Second Chance

Tonight in Sweden, SVT hosted the second-chance round of popular selection Melodifestivalen. The show consisted of four battles, where the winner of each individual battle would advance to the grand final of Melodifestivalen 2020, next Saturday. Below is how the battles turned out:

Duel 1:

  • Anis don Demina – “Vem är som oss” 
  • Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron – “Surface”

Duel 2:

  • Malou Prytz – “Ballerina”
  • Paul Rey – “Talking in My Sleep” 

Duel 3:

  • Felix Sandman – “Boys with Emotions” 
  • Frida Öhrn – “We Are One”

Duel 4:

  • Méndez feat. Alvaro Estrella – “Vamos amigos” 
  • Drängarna – “Piga och dräng”

This means that Anis don Demina, Paul Rey, Felix Sandman and Méndez feat. Alvaro Estrella will all head to Stockholm for the final of Melodifestivalen. The final running order of the final is:

Serbia: Beovizija – Semi-Final 2

RTS presented a long evening of entertainment, where over three-hours of pure Beovizija was broadcast. Ultimately, six songs advanced to the Grand Final which will be held in Serbia, tomorrow, March 1st.

Portugal: Festival da Canção – Semi-final 2

A very late night for worldwide ESC fans! Broadcaster RTP presented the second semi-final of Festival da Canção live from Portugal, of which eight total acts competed, with four advancing to the final on the 7th of March (next Saturday). Show began at 22:55 CET.

Below is the list of semi-finalists who took part in the second semi-final. In bold are those who advanced to the final:
