Jon Ola Sand Steps Down As Executive Supervisor After 2020

Jon Ola Sand, the executive producer of the Eurovision Song Contest for the last 10 years has resigned.

He is well known for his statement of ‘take it away’, and of course being the executive producer of the Eurovision Song Contest since 2010. He has announced that he will step down after the 2020 edition of the contest, and give the role to someone else.

Jon Ola Sand will not be leaving broadcasting though. Instead, he will be heading to NRK, the Norweigan Broadcaster, where Sand worked before he began working at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The past decade at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has been fantastic and exciting, but it will also be good to come home.”
