Early this year, it was announced that Malta would host the first ever edition of X Factor Malta, in which the winner of the show would travel to Tel Aviv for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. In the end, Michela proved victorious and her song ‘Chameleon’ was later revealed. She finished 14th with 107 points.
This year, X Factor Malta is continuing and will be the Maltese selection for Eurovision 2020. Maltese News Website, Lovin’ Malta spotted Destiny at X Factor Malta’s bootcamp. Last year, she turned 16, meaning that she can participate at Eurovision, if, of course she wins. Chukunyere will need to transfer, all the way through the bootcamp round, six-chair-challenge, judges houses and all of the live shows.
Destiny at Junior Eurovision
Destiny Chukunyere represented Malta at the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, at only 13 years of age. She won the contest with the song ‘Not My Soul’, achieving 185 points, being Malta’s best ever Junior Eurovision and Eurovision result! You can watch her JESC Winning performance below:
