Melani has been selected internally to represent Spain at the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
The singer was revealed on Spanish channel La 1 at around 12:25 CET. The reveal took place on A Partir de Hoy (the Summer Morning). The announcement was presented by Máximo Huerta. Melani is 12 years old from Valencia. Her musical style is opera and she also plays the violin. She won last year’s edition of the Voice Kids in Spain (La Voz Kids).
Spain at Junior Eurovision
Spain was one of the first sixteen countries to debut at the first Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. On their debut, they were represented by the song ‘Desde el Cielo’ which finished in second position. In 2004, they were represented by María Isabel, who won the contest with the song ‘Antes muerta que sencilla’. In 2005 they finished in second once again and fourth in 2006. They withdrew in 2007, but have returned for the 2019 contest in Gliwice, after a 13 year break.
