United Kingdom: “I think it’s safe to say we will be returning next year to the Netherlands.”

Today the BBC have officially confirmed that they will be taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The team approached the BBC for a comment in regards to their participation and the enquiries stated that they will be taking part come May 2020.

The news comes just weeks after a songwriting camp took place with big names such as Holly Tandy and Morland attending, the BBC has broadcast and participated in every Eurovision since 1956 and the upcoming participation will mark their 64th participation and they will be hoping to put an end to the streak of bad results in recent years.

Although the broadcaster confirmed their participation they didn’t release any news in regards to how they will select their entry this year with many fans calling for Eurovision: You Decide to be scrapped following poor planning and poor formatting this year, others have called for the reintroduction of BBC Introducing as the selection format which was used back in 2014.
