World-Famous Dutch Violinist André Rieu, is backing Maastricht as the host-city for the Eurovision Song Contest next year.
Nine Dutch Cities are currently in the bidding process to host the contest next year. One of those is Maastricht, who has seen a rather large promotion from Maastricht-born André Rieu, a well-known composer and violinist.
Rieu has created a social media campaign backing his host town Maastricht as the host-city for the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. He has created a short clip, in partnership with Visit Maastricht which contains a snippet of the Eurovision theme-song ‘Te Deum’ performed by his fellow orchestra. Maastricht is a southern city in The Netherlands. With a population of around 122,000, it is largest city in the Dutch provine Limburg and also the capital. Read more about Maastricht here.
